I am honored to serve as the State Senator for Delaware’s 17th District. My journey in public service began in 2012 when I was first elected to represent the 29th District in the Delaware House of Representatives, a position I held for three terms. In 2018, I was elected to the Delaware Senate, representing the 17th District.

Born and raised in Dover, I earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware in 1991. After graduation, I joined my father’s company, Paradee Gas Co. While raising my young family, I attended evening classes and earned a master’s degree in business administration from UD in 1998.

Following the sale of Paradee Gas Co. in 2000, I joined Merrill Lynch as a financial advisor. In 2003, I established an Edward Jones Investments office in downtown Dover. In 2011, I founded Paradee Financial LLC, which continues to provide financial advice to small businesses and helps families save for college and retirement.

Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to community service. I have served on numerous boards and committees for local organizations and charities, including the Boy Scouts of America, Delaware Technical Community College Educational Foundation, the Downtown Dover Partnership, and the Inner-City Cultural League. Additionally, I volunteered as a youth lacrosse coach for the Camden Mid-State Youth Lacrosse Club from 2009 to 2012.

In the Senate, I currently serve as co-chair of the budget-writing Joint Finance Committee, vice-chair of the Banking, Business, Insurance & Technology Committee, and as a member of the Environment, Energy & Transportation Committee, Agriculture Committee, and Veterans Affairs Committee.

I live in Dover with my wife, Meghan Paradee, and we are the proud parents of Cassie, 29, Charlie, 24, and Isla, 10. Our family is often accompanied by our Labrador Retrievers, Teddy Bear and Lulu, along with our new addition, Basil the French Bulldog. In our spare time, Meghan and I enjoy traveling and scuba diving.
